but I think the best thing is you draw what you love. What you are interested in and show that to the world.
I love birds, birdhouses and music. that's what I used here. I like bright flashy colours and that is also what you see here.

this was first roughly sketched in pencil and then inked. scanned in photoshop and coloured until I thought it was nice.
the best thing is to just start looking at things you love and making stuff you think looks good and you will make great things. be hard on yourself, don't copy others, but try to pick up interesting elements and try to come up with a personal style. good luck !
the best advice I can give you is: without good creative ideas it's hard to make a good piece

I use a simple black fineliner pen from staedler. 0.5 size. it's a pen, not a brush.
